About Me….. Jo Waters

Are you struggling with motivation to exercise? Is finding time juggling family life or other commitments making it difficult to stay consistent with your food choices and exercise regularity? Have you recently bought a beautiful being into the world and want guidance with specialist training in restoring your core and strengthening the rest of your body?

You’ve probably answered ​yes to at least one​​ of those questions and over the last 20 years as a personal trainer and mother- so have I! Having 4 wonderful children myself ranging from 18 years old to 3, I fully understand the demands of a family and the frustration of trying to find time for you, to fit in exercise and even to prepare and eat nutritious food.

My clients range from those who are looking to ​lose weight and move better​​ through exercise and​ nutrition, ​​to expectant mothers looking to stay fit and healthy during pregnancy, through to postnatal fitness recovery.  I offer 1:1 training sessions with me and a bespoke programme to follow at home, I will teach you to understand nutritious choices for your body- not a ‘diet’! – we’re looking to add food not take it away.

The area I have specialised in is core recovery and exercise programming. This is not just for postnatal mums it’s for ALL of us ladies. Treating the body as as a whole, we look at breathing, posture, core connection, pelvic floor activation and nutrition to feed and heal your body. This affects all of us particularly after giving birth, whether that’s 6 weeks ago or 16 years ago. I also run ​Buggy Bootcamp classes which are outdoor group exercise classes designed specifically for postnatal mums http://www.buggy-bootcamp-bedford.co.uk . It’s a safe and fun way to exercise and meet other mums and the best thing is you bring your little one along too.

I’ve been training with Jo for a while now, and usually see her every 5 weeks or so and she’s helped me change my lifestyle massively. Not only have I lost weight, built muscle and become fitter, but my attitude to exercise has changed; my knowledge of nutrition and food has increased and I feel so much better for it. Jo is always so flexible and she makes our sessions interesting and fun and always incorporates things I like doing. She pushes me to work hard and motivates me – but she’s also understanding when ‘life’ can sometimes get in the way, and helps me get back on track.
